Arithmetic mean A is the number between two numbers a and b so that the three numbers a, A, b together form an Arithmetic Progression. Similarly, Geometric mean G is the number between two numbers a and b so that the three numbers a, G, b together form a Geometric Progression.

The intercepts of an ellipse are the lengths of semi major and semi minor axes. Try to find the lengths of semi major axis and semi minor axis. I hope you can try it. So, I am not giving the final answer.

The points on the hyperbola possess a common property that "The difference between the distances from a point on hyperbola to the foci is constant" i.e., If P is a point on hyperbola and F1, F2 are the foci, then | PF1 - PF2 | is constant.
