Hence, while teaching them, you need to bifurcate the teaching duration so that it includes the kid's interest activities and, at the same time, studies. For example, if he like painting, then first teach him numbers and then hand over the paintbrush and give him any activity related to numbers you have taught. It will make him gain confidence and importance, and he will eventually look forward to all learning sessions.
