My journey into the Japanese language was purely driven by passion, and over the past five years, I have transformed this interest into a fulfilling teaching career. I hold an N4 Level 4 (4Q) NAT-TEST certification in Japanese and a BE in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE). My love for the language started with my own studies, and after successfully completing the N5 level, I decided to take my knowledge forward by teaching others. I initially worked as a freelance Japanese tutor, helping students understand the language from a beginner’s perspective. Currently, I serve as a Japanese language teacher at Dhanalakshmi College, guiding students through structured learning.

Japanese is a language that requires patience and practice, and I ensure that my teaching methods make learning engaging and accessible. My online classes are conducted over six months, following a structured lesson plan with a strong emphasis on practical application. Language is best learned through interaction, and I incorporate speaking, writing, reading, and listening exercises to make my students comfortable with Japanese communication. From vocabulary building to grammar structures and cultural nuances, I ensure that my students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for real-world use.

Live sessions play a crucial role in my teaching approach, as they allow students to ask questions, practice pronunciation, and receive instant feedback. Japanese, being a unique language with three writing systems—Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji—requires a methodical approach, and I tailor my lessons to help students grasp these effectively. My aim is not just to teach students how to pass exams but to make them proficient in understanding and using the language confidently. To support their learning, I provide notes that help them revise and practice outside of class hours.

What sets my teaching apart is my ability to relate to students as someone who has walked the same path. Since I started learning Japanese purely out of interest, I understand the common struggles and misconceptions learners face. I use my personal experiences to simplify complex concepts and make learning enjoyable rather than intimidating. My goal is to help students develop a deep appreciation for the language and its cultural significance, making their learning journey both educational and inspiring.

As I continue to teach and expand my knowledge, I hope to guide many more students toward fluency in Japanese. Learning a foreign language opens doors to numerous opportunities, whether in education, career growth, or cultural exploration. I take pride in being a bridge that connects my students to the fascinating world of Japan, and I look forward to making language learning an enriching experience for all those who join my classes.
