Smt. Debjani Datta has an experience of teaching more than Thirty Years in the field of Hindustani Classical Vocal, Rabindra Sangeet and light music. She a voice trainer and grooming students on her own. She is one of the Senior External Examiner of Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, Bangalore Chapter.
She was trained by renown Gurus of Bishnupur Gharana, Gwalior Gharana, Kirana-Jaipur Gharana. She had learnt Rabindra Sangeet from late Smt. Kamala Bose, Late Smt. Sumitra Sen and from Dakshinee, a leading School of Rabindra Sangeet in West Bengal. She had a specialization on Bengali folk from Late Sri. Dinen Choudhury and Sri. Abhijit Basu, Bengali Modern song from Late Sri. Jatileshwar Muhkopodhya. Other song from Sri. Rathin Dutta.
She is the Founder and the Teacher of Deeksha Sangeet Academy, established in the year of 2004. The Institute is affiliated by Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. It is an Examination Centre in Bangalore South and one of the oldest centres of Pracheen Kala Kendra in Bangalore Chapter.
Online and offline – both classes are conducted through digital media in India and abroad. Institute is grooming students for Hindustani Classical and Light music. We are also grooming students for Rabindar Sangeet, Bengali Folk Song, Nazrulgeeti etc. We are also teaching playing Harmonium. We are conducting Bengali Recitation classes.
