Rina B.

She was born in a musical family in Kolkata and started learning vocal music at an early age, from her mother a Sitarist.in classical music at Ravindra Bharati University - Kolkata. Later she joined as an external examiner of the same university. Here she started taking guidance from Dr. Amiyan Ranjan Banerjee, Pt. Chinmoy Lahiri. Later she was under tutelage of Pt. Binoy Ganguly, and completed her Visharad Degree with distinction. She graduated in political science and then moved on to pursue her master's, and Smt Shipra Bose. During this period her 'Gayaki 'was reckoned and she started performing in various music festivals and has been awarded many prizes. Currently, she is under advance training from music maestro Pt.Vinayak Torvi in Bangalore. She stood first in her 'ALANKAR' exam from Gandharva Maha Vidhylaya, Mumbai, at All India Level. Last few years she has been teaching in Green Wood High School - Bangalore and currently she is the Music faculty in Head Start International School in sarjapur, Bangalore. She is also the principal of 'Kala Bhavan' - Music School Marathahalli, Bangalore and the Owner of the Music Shop 'The Sound's Of Music'. She is a regular performing B' High Grade Artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan for more than 25 Years and now she is an able Guru of classical music.
