It's simple. Everyone needs a reward for the routine they perform. Give them something they crave/desire for, say chocolate or pack lays or what he wants. he requires rewards for every activity he performs until it transforms into a habit; therefore, keep the reward small, sweet and healthy that you can give him frequently.
The basic idea here is cue->routine->reward.
